Mobile web access is becoming the hottest trend nowadays since mobile devices such as web-enabled phones and PDAs are becoming more common. Mobile web access is described as accessing the Internet through the use of mobile devices, examples of which are mentioned above. Aside from Internet access, mobile web also have an additional feature such as the SMS text messaging.

Mobile web access is very convenient for people on the go since it can be used from almost anywhere as long as you have your device working. It is a very promising technology, however, right now, there are issues concerning interoperability and usability problems. This may be due to the large variety of mobile device manufacturers, size and resolution of the screen, and other device limitations, such as lack of windows for multi-tasking, lack of Javascript and cookies that are used in facilitating and validation of data that is entered by the user, types of pages that are accessible, and speed. Standardization is one approach that mobile web development groups are now implementing to improve the interoperability, accessibility, compatibility, and usability issues that mobile web is now facing.

If, in the long run, the mobile web access overcomes these issues, it is possible that a PC’s online activities may be matched, or migrated altogether, to the mobile phone due to its mobility and faster connection speeds. And since mobile devices are very compact and cheap, its availability to anyone is rather higher than those of notebooks and desktops.
