Why can't I access certain websites?

Answer 1: I don't have any ad-blocking extensions, and the websites I can't visit don't work on Safari, IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, or Opera. They are not unavailable or down either.

Answer 2: I have recently been unable to access some of my favorite websites even though I've never had a problem with the sites in the past. I haven't been banned from the sites that I know of since they are not interactive sites and I've never had a opportunity to post anything taboo or done anything that is against the TOS of the sites. In fact, they're news/informational sites. Friends and family can access the sites from their computers so that tells me the sites aren't down or experiencing slow load times.

Answer 3: Are there errors? Have you checked your HOSTS file to see if those sites are listed there? Such a listing would block those sites..

Answer 4: The I.T. Department has various safeguards in place to prevent improper content from reaching children and Faculty members. If you feel a website is being blocked that should not be, or if inappropriate content is reaching your desktop, please contact your Ed Tech Coordinator. Your Ed Tech coordinator will contact the I.T. Department to correct the problem. For sites that are blocked, please note the exact web address (url), reason for the block, and the filter scheme as shown on the blocking message window. For sites that should be blocked, please provide the exact web address (url) and the reason that this site should be blocked.

Answer 5: For password help you can contact I.T. directly at 399-5100. You could also have your Ed Tech or site secretary contact us for you. Your I.T. representative will reset your password and provide you with the information.
